Getting A Tattoo Removed
Tattoos don’t have to be forever. 4 Unfortunately, the removal of tattoos is generally more costly and time consuming than acquiring them. Most patients will require at least six treatment sessions, and the total number of treatment sessions depends on the size of the tattoo and the ink colors. Larger spot sizes slightly increase the effective penetration depth of the laser light, thus enabling more effective targeting of deeper tattoo pigments.
Then the tattoo will fade as the body removes the remainders of the tattoo pigment. PicoSure targets unwanted ink more effectively than ever before, successfully removing difficult ink colors, such as blues and greens, as well as previously treated tattoos. Tattoo ink, or colors, or pigmentation, are very specific in that they respond to different frequencies of laser energy.
Other tattoo colors appear frequently and wavelengths including 532nm, 694nm, and 755nm as well as attachable hand pieces with 585nm and 650nm wavelengths are available ( Table 2 ). Tattoo artists will mix colors and ingredients 38 and acknowledge that the formulations themselves are not uniform, frequently change, and are poorly regulated. It may take several sessions or several different types of treatments to remove your tattoo.
